Harold Edward Doolittle, 86, of Greenwood, husband of Alice Shepard Doolittle, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at his home.

Born in South Carolina, he was the son of the late Edward Doolittle and Cleo Stewart Whitt. Harold retired from Greenwood Mills after working 40 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. His strong work ethic and commitment to his job reflected the values he instilled in his family. He was a proud and loving husband for 44 cherished years, and together they raised a family that brought him immense joy. An avid fan of sports, Harold had a special love for the Atlanta Braves and the Clemson Tigers. His enthusiasm for competition extended beyond the field and into the great outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting and gardening, particularly growing tomatoes. He found happiness in the little things, whether spending time breeding his beagles or cheering on his grandchildren in their various endeavors. He was a member of Mathews United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Freida Johnson and a sister, Joann Doolittle Proctor.

Surviving in addition to his beloved wife of the home are his children, Robyn Jones (Randy), Kip Doolittle, Kim Calliham, Kirk Doolittle, Karla Phillips and Sheila Reid; grandchildren, Jessica Thomas (Bud), Jacob Johnson (Pami), Allison Johnson, Joshua Jones (Karla), Jeremy Jones, Rebecca Phillips, Lindsay Doolittle, Leslie Doolittle and Kayla Stanley (Joe); and ten great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11am on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nellie Cloninger and Rev. Mike Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Josh Jones, Jeremy Jones, Jacob Johnson, Randy Jones, Nick Meredith and Thomas Bennett.

The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home from 10-11am.
