Harold Samuel Satcher, 80, of 137 Valley Road, died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Johnnie and Ola Cannon Satcher. Harold retired from the U. S. Air Force as Chief Master Sergeant, having served during Vietnam and under Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson on Air Force One. He was a member of the American Legion Post 20 and graduated from the University of Maryland with a major in Electrical Engineering. He was an Electronics Instructor at Piedmont Technical College following his retirement from the Air Force. Harold was a member of Mathews United Methodist Church and attended Emerald Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Michael Satcher and his wife, Cheri and John Satcher, all of Greenwood; a sister, Gloria Murphy and her husband, Bruce, and their son, Kenneth, of Sylvania, GA; and two grandchildren, Aaron Satcher of Charleston and Kalyn Satcher of Greenwood.
