Harry Cowan, 81, of 116 Augusta Circle, husband of Mary Horne Cowan, died Tuesday, February 04, 2014, at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Center. Born in Aiken County, he was the son of the late Walter Lynwood and Aurie McClain Cowan. He was employed by Abney and Greenwood Mills and was a member of Abney Memorial Baptist Church. Harry was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, of the home; three sons, Thomas Cowan (Sharon) of Greenwood, Johnny Cowan (Sherry) of Cross Hill, and Bobby Cowan of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Taylor Cowan, Matthew Cowan, Alexa Cowan, Paige Cowan, Jeannie Brown, and Tony Godfrey. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samantha Cowan. Pallbearers will be Wayne Cowan, Randy Cowan, Mark Riddle, Ray Giacomel, Jimmy Burton and Mike Thigpen. Honorary escort will be Dennis Easley, Brent Bennett and Steve Seigler.
