Harvey Dale Gambrell, 86, of 110 Valley Road, Spring Valley Subdivision, Greenwood, husband of Juanita LeCroy Gambrell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Clyde Benson Gambrell and Daisy Alewine Gambrell. Dale was a graduate of Starr High School; attended Forrest College; and received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Limestone University. He retired from Life of Georgia in 2004 in the accountant department. Dale was an avid golfer and a huge Clemson Tigers fan. He was a member of the Star Fort Golf Club, where he was one of the first 100 members of the club.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by his children, Janet Swartzentruber (Eric) and Wanda Tafta; grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson (Maggie), Travis Johnson (Angela Cummings), Britney Grosskopf, Allyson Swartzentruber, and Iden Swartzentruber; ten great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Rick Hendricks officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
