Harvey G. Sartin, 77, resident of Wesley Commons, died Monday, December 17, 2018 at Hospice House.
Born in Lula, GA, he was a son of the late John A. Sartin, Sr. and Roxie Belle Sartin. Harvey was a graduate of Greenwood High School, where he was a student school bus driver. Following his graduation from high school, he proudly served in the US Air Force at Eglin AFB, Florida and then attended Lakeland Bible College. He was employed by Greenwood Mills, Chemstrand and Roses Department Store.
Harvey was a dedicated Christian who was born again at a revival in Niceville, FL under the preaching of Rev. Jimmy Snow, son of country music legend, Hank Snow. He was a long-time member of South Greenwood Church of God (now Restoration Ministries).
Surviving are two sisters, Debra Lesley (Butch) of Greenwood and Beverly Doolittle (Rev. Tommy) of West Columbia and three brothers, Loy Sartin and Wayne Sartin (Gail), both of Greenwood and John A. Sartin, Jr. (Jessica) of San Antonio, TX; and his stepmother, Jean Sartin of Greenwood.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ouzts and the Rev. Kenneth Rabon officiating. Burial will be private.
The Sartin family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Self Regional Healthcare, Wesley Commons and Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont for their excellent care and lovingkindness to Harvey and his family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
