Hazel Mumford Crockett, 83, of 140 Kirkland Drive, widow of Benjamin Elliott Crockett, Jr., died Friday, June 14, 2013 at Hospice House. Born in Harlem, GA; she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Hallie Ansley Mumford. Hazel was a 1947 graduate of Harlem High School where she was the captain of the girl�s varsity basketball team. She was a homemaker, a volunteer for the American Red Cross, in the Golden Steppers Cloggers and also in the Senior Circle in McCormick. Hazel was a member of Silver Run Baptist Church in Harlem, GA and attended Buffalo Baptist Church for the past twenty years. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Adams. Surviving are four children, Carmen (Albert) Burnett, of Greenwood, Dale Tucker of Florence, Daniel B. Crockett of McCormick and Patrick D. (Sandra White) Crockett of Abbeville; five grandchildren, Lynne (Ron) Long of Grey Court, Troy Tucker, Dresden Tucker, both of Florence, Matthew Crockett of Seneca and Andrew Crockett of Spartanburg; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family is at their respective homes.
