Obituary

Hazel Farmer New, 68, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Earl Farmer and Annie Ruth Taylor Farmer. She retired from Eaton Hydraulics and was a member of Thrive Ministries. She was known for her warm smile, her passion for spending time with family, and her delicious peanut butter cake. Affectionately known as "Nana" to her grandchildren, Hazel will be remembered for her hard work, her unwavering faith, and her open-hearted nature that welcomed all who crossed her path into her home.

She is survived by her two sons, Joe New II (Mandy) and Austin New (Cyndi); two brothers, Ray Farmer (Susan) and Billy Farmer (Cindy); grandchildren, Jody New (Emily Stawski), Aubree New, Coltan New, Will New, Ruthie New, and Matthew New; numerous nieces and nephews; along with her church family at Thrive Ministries.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Farmer and Larry Ray Farmer and a special aunt, Margaret Johnson.

No services are planned.
