Obituary

Hazel James Porter, 98, formerly of 111 Kitson Street, Ninety Six, widow of Otis M. Porter, passed away May 7, 2017 at National Health Care in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Abbeville, she was a daughter of the late John and Paughnee Grant James. A graduate of Ninety Six High School, she was retired from Greenwood Mills. Mrs. Porter was a member of Cambridge United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Ethel James Wiley and Thelma James Knox, and beloved niece, Kay Wiley Free.

Surviving are nephew, George Free and wife Rita of Greer; great nephew, Wiley Free of Greenwood; great niece, Dana Kaltz and husband Kurt of Edgefield, and their children, Kenneth James Kaltz and Kay Wiley Kaltz.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens officiated by Reverend Dan Smyth.

The family will receive friends after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cambridge United Methodist Church, 201 Kitson Street, Ninety Six, SC 29666.
