Obituary
Helen Elizabeth Smith Dorn, 94, of Greenwood, widow of James C. Dorn, passed Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Magnolia Manor.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Smith and Jessie King Smith. She formerly worked at NHC of Greenwood for many years and was a member of Greenwood First Assembly of God. She enjoyed arts and crafts, home decorating, tending to her garden, and picking pecans. Helen loved to read the Bible and share the Word with others. She was happy spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, James Toney Dorn (Judy) and Kathy Maxwell (Alan), both of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jerry Smith, J.J. Smith, Jamie Dorn, and Patrick Dorn; five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, four sisters, Margaret Miller, Jewel Williams, Shirley Dixon, and Jeanette Farmer and two brothers, Jerry Smith and Charles Smith.
Services will be private.
