Helen Latham Eanes, 91, of Ashley Place, widow of David L. Eanes, Sr., went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Hospice House.
Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Austin and Frances Telford Latham. She received her nursing degree from Lander College and retired as a registered nurse in 1994. She shared her passion and love of music by teaching numerous students for more than 60 years. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and the pianist at many churches. She was also a member of The Eastern Star.
Surviving are her daughters, Lorie Reeder (Billy Ray) and Connie Jester (Charles), both of Cross Hill; a son, Bee Austin Corley of Enoree; step-son, David L. Eanes, Jr. of Big Pine Key, FL.; step-daughters, Debbie Vaughn (Robert) of Donalds and Pam Eanes of Munster, IN; brother, Jerry Latham (Dot) of Greenwood; sister-in-law, Annette Latham of Greenwood; grandchildren, David Beggs, Neal Beggs, Rene Clamp, Brandon Corley, Chuck Corley, Susan Hudson, Lynn Vasquez, Brenda Karski, Dana Chrisley, Leah Budreau, Ronnie McAllister, April Rasar, and Josh Eanes; thirty-eight great grandchildren, and thirty great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by sons, Elliott Corley and David Corley; daughter-in-laws, Dianne Corley and Sandra Corley; granddaughter, Rhonda Rhodes; and brothers, Herman Latham, Max Latham, and Gene Latham.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with her grandsons Rev. Brandon Corley and Chuck Corley officiating. Interment will follow the service.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Harley Funeral Home.
