Mary Helen Johnson Smith, 70, of 112 Merriman Avenue, wife of Robert T. Smith, Jr., passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 at her home. Born in Oglethorpe, GA, she was a daughter of the late Albert S. Johnson and Ethel McDonald Johnson. Helen retired from Greenwood Mills where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She attended North Greenwood Church of God. Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are two children: Bobby (Michele) Smith and Joyce (Jimmy) Dodgen both of Greenwood; two sisters: Jennelle (Neil) Steifle of Greenwood and Reba (Larry) Sisk of Greenville; and a granddaughter, Hope Dodgen of Greenwood. Memorials may be sent to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646. The family is at the home of her sister, Jennelle Steifle, 142 Roman Circle, Greenwood.
