Helga J. Faltenberger Crouch, 84, of Greenwood, widow of Bobby Eugene Crouch, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born on July 13, 1940, in Augsburg, Germany, she was the daughter of late Martin Faltenberger and Katherina Tittel Faltenberger. Helga made the brave journey to the United States in her 20s, with her military husband, Bobby, where they embraced a vibrant life filled with love and laughter. Together, they traveled far and wide, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Helga had a spirited approach to life-she was known for her determination and, at times, her hard-headedness, a quality that endeared her to those who loved her.

Helga found great joy in the companionship of her dogs, Stormy, Sadie, and Kiki, who held a special place in her heart. Helga's life revolved around her family and friends. She was a master in the kitchen, where her famous dishes-like goulash, German potato salad, rouladen, and moose crepes-were expressions of her love. Cooking was her love language, and she shared many delicious meals with everyone she considered family.

Helga found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether playing a spirited game of bingo, tending to her beloved flowers, or immersing herself in her garden, every moment was a treasure to her. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mary Pinckney Chapter.

She is survived by her sons, Gary H. Crouch (Carolyn) and Wanye O. Crouch (Diane); two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, both in the States and Germany.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Faltenberger, and a sister, Maria Mayer.
