Hilburn M. Burdette, Sr., 82, of 2376 River Fork Road, Waterloo, widower of Iola Davis Burdette, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Hospice House, Greenwood. Born in Oconee County, SC, he was a son of the late James Paul and Lila Bolt Burdette. He was retired from Simmons Machinery, was a Gold Star Father and was a member of West Main Street Church of God, Ware Shoals. Surviving are a daughter, Ann Waters of Waterloo; a son, Gary Burdette of Augusta, GA; two sisters, Amanda Odell and her husband, Russ, of Anderson and Sue Durham and her husband, Bill, of Easley; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Hilburn �Buddy� Burdette, Jr., who died in Vietnam in 1970; a granddaughter, Denise Perry; a great grandson, Michael Powell and two brothers, Paul Burdette and Charles Burdette.
