Hilda Lowery Sims, 78, of 108 Dogwood Drive, widow of Rudolph Nathan Sims, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Hospice House.
Born in Ninety Six, she was the daughter of the late Preston Brooks and Ethel Harter Lowery. She was a graduate of Commerce College and retired from Sun Trust Bank. Hilda was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Gene Williams Jr. of the home; two brothers, William Donald Lowery of Powdersville and Henry Ronald Lowery (Patsy Ridlehoover) of Six Mile; two step children, Barry Sims of Gastonia, NC and Vickie Sims Laughlin (Larry) of Hodges; a daughter-in-law Susan Sims of Greenwood; two step grandchildren, Brooks Sims, Brittany Dunlap (Terence); a great granddaughter, Rudy Mackenzie Dunlap; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Lowery.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Sprouse and the Rev. Valerie Mireb officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Preston Lowery, Mike Lowery, Kyle Lowery, Glenn McClam, Alan Fortner, Jimmy Brock, and Glen Evans.
Honorary escort will be Donnie McDowell, Timmy Price, Steve Dove, Michelle Hughes, Julie McCary and the members of Jack Marshall Sunday school class.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
