Hilda Smith Swancey, 74, of 301 Pow Road, widow of George Maxie Swancey, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Born in Saluda, she was a daughter of the late Frank Robert Smith and Julia Marie Hasting Pow. She owned and operated Small World Leaning Center and was a member of the Quilter�s Guild, the Order of the Eastern Star and Providence Baptist Church. Mrs. Swancey enjoyed farming, taking care of children and quilting. Surviving are three daughters, Edwina Hatcher of Hodges, Sonya Sheppard of Ware Shoals and Cindy Blodgett of Greer; two stepsons, Bobby G. Stone and George �Donnie� Swancey, both of Greenwood; two sisters, Ruby Geiger of Brunswick, GA and Peggy Brown of Hodges; 13 grandchildren and a great grandchild. She was preceded in death by sons, John Gary Womack and Don Randall Womack.
