The following obituary is being shared as a courtesy to the local friends and family of Honorable Havey.

Honorable Judge Gordon "Gordy" E. Havey passed away of natural causes on July 27, 2024 at the young age of 97. He was the widower of Phyllis A. Havey.

Born in Detroit Michigan, he retired to Pine Island Florida, with his last few years spent in Greenwood South Carolina, where he was close to his direct family. Gordy was a graduate of University of Detroit Law School, and served as President of the Michigan District Judges Association. He served in the Army-Air Corp, prior to his legal career.

Gordy is survived by his son Michael G. Havey, his wife Billie R. Havey, and their three daughters, Elizabeth Howell, Stephanie Erin Rosemary Havey and Rebecca Walsh.
