Howard Cook, 81, of 309 Alabama Avenue, widower of Frances Garnell Johnson Cook, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Hospice House. Born in Bowman, SC, he was a son of the late John and Ida Patrick Cook. He was retired from the SC Department of Transportation, where he was a surveyor on the location crew and earned the title �Party Chief�. Howard was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is his son, Howard �Chip� Cook, Jr. and his wife, Wendy, of Donalds; three sisters, Patricia Jeffcoat of Leesville, Lettie Rae Davis of Orangeburg and Johnnie Rae Steadman of Leesburg, FL; a brother, Floyd Cook of Columbia; grandchildren, Makenzie Cook, Ryan Beams and Randy Beams. He was preceded in death by his wife and his daughter, Renee Beams. The family is at the home of Chip and Wendy Cook, 1574 Mt. Lebanon Road, Donalds.
