Hunter Wilson, 29, resident of Ninety Six, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Born on October 3, 1996, in Greenwood, he was a son of Jenny Lind McCord Boggs, Scott Boggs and James Allen Wilson. Hunter was a graduate of Greenwood High School and attended Piedmont Technical College pursuing a certificate in mechatronics. He was employed by ATS as a Maintenance Technician 1. He had a passion for restoring and working on cars, loved tackling projects with his tools and hands, and found joy outdoors. He valued time spent with family and friends and treasured his loyal companions and fur babies.

Hunter was a beacon of love and light in the lives of many, embodying the very essence of compassion, kindness, and humor. Known for his boisterous spirit and cheerful demeanor, he possessed the rare ability to brighten even the darkest of rooms. Friends and family often found solace in his presence, as he had a unique way of reaching out to help others and offering words of encouragement when they needed it most. He had a unique gift for making others feel valued and cherished along with a remarkable ability to uplift those around him.

Surviving in addition to his parents and stepfather are his grandparents, Bobby and Abby McCord; step-grandmother, Mickey Boggs of Hodges; aunts, Jill (Darren) Bosler of Abbeville and Robin (Brent) McKellar of Greenwood; a great aunt, Penny Richey of Abbeville; special brother, Gage Latham; along with a host of cousins and extended family.

He was predeceased by his brother and best friend, Robert Kyle Wilson, paternal grandparents, Jack and Eula Mae Wilson, maternal grandmother, Sandra Williams Pettigrew, and his good friends, Buddy Swafford and Damon Clark.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday at Hunters Creek Club House with pastor Byron Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service at the club house from 2:00 - 3:00 pm.

Honorary escort will be Chris Johnson, Blake Miller, Brandon Jones, Haylee Godfrin, Trevor Clary, Haleigh Harrison and Derek Teisort.

The family is at the home of Hunter's mom and stepdad, 219 Bowles Avenue, Greenwood.
