Obituary

Ida Mae Massey Smith, 85, of 900 Sauer Farm Road, wife of William �Bill� Smith, died Wednesday, January 01, 2014. Born in Kansas City, MO, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd C. and Jennie Wood Mann. Ida Mae and her sister, Dean Crout opened an H & R Block franchise in 1965. She was a franchise owner for over 40 years. In 1967, she and her sister, Dean also opened a real estate company, SunnyLand Reality where she was a Licensed Realtor and an Enrolled Agent to practice before the IRS. In the year 2000, Ida Mae was listed in the America�s Outstanding Women�s Millennium Edition of The Elite Who�s Who. She was a member of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church and attended Austin Road Baptist Church in Honea Path where she resided. Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are three children; Curt Keller (Holly), Laura Skelton (Richard) both of Greenwood and Debbie Dorsey of Walnut Creek, CA; two sisters, Dean Crout (George) and Virginia Someillan (Felix) both of Greenwood; two brothers, Curt Mann (Shirley) and George Mann (Zuchi) both of Iowa; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be great grandsons, Connor Brown, Grant Brown, nephew, Kenny Carrington, along with Wayne Ridlehoover, Jerry Losaw and Jamie Davis. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Gentiva Hospice Care of Greenville, 15 Brendan Way Suite 100, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at their respective homes.
