Ila Mae Parkman Burgess, 91, of Troy, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Jeanette Shaffer Parkman. She retired from Parke-Davis and was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Sherry Welch (Steve) of Piedmont, SC, Lynn Hubbard (Glenn) of Atlanta, GA, George Bruce Wells, Jr. (Chuck) of Ninety Six; brother, William Ira Parkman of Troy, SC; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Maxwell and a grandson, Josh Burnett.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Mr. Steve Welch officiating.
