Obituary

Irene Cook Culbertson Devore, 83, of 414 Lanham Street, widow of George Clayton Devore, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Hospice House. Born in Callison, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Franklin Cook and Daisy Adams Cook. Irene was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the Mary P. Ouzts Chapter # 1 of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was Past Matron. She was a member of Emerald Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, G. Randy Culbertson and George F. �Bubba� Culbertson, both of Greenwood; two step sons, Vernon Clayton Devore of Greenwood and Jody W. Devore of Spartanburg; a brother, J. P. Cook of Greenwood; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Andrew Cook, Dennis Cook, Ronnie Cook, Allison McDaniel, Ward Bice and Charles McElroy. Honorary escort will be the members of her Sunday school class. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Emerald Baptist Church, 101 East Laurel Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29649. The family is at the home of her son, Randy Culbertson, 115 Woodcrest Street, Greenwood, SC.
