Iris Horne Golding, 86, formally of 125 Timberwood,widow of Jack Scurry Golding, died Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Emerald Gardens. Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Walter Jackson Horne and Mattie Lou Deloach Horne. Iris retired from Kemet. She attended Northside Baptist Church and was a member of Woodfields Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters: Brigitte Knowlton (Timmy) of Greenwood, Gail Bell (Jimmy) of Greenwood, Jackie Owens (Steve) of Hodges and Glenda Gary (Danny) of Beaufort; a sister, Doris Quarles of Greenwood; ten grandchildren, Brooke Ouzts, Kenzie Owens, Casey Bell, Nikki Scott, Jamie Bell, Chad Owens, Trent Bell, Cory Owens, April Busby and Melissa Harmon; and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angie Rankin; and siblings: Irby Horne, Floyd Ray Horne, Moile Christian, Larry Horne, Mildred Capps and Graham Horne. Pallbearers will be Dennis Quarles, Norman Capps, Ricky Horne, Gregg McGovern, Hilton Dodgen, Jr., Nick Tettis and Pat Mueller. Honorary escort will be the staff of Emerald Gardens.
