Iris Sawyer Ross, 85, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Born in Whitney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Claude Elmore Sawyer and Annie Ruff Sawyer. Iris was a homemaker and a patient sitter. She was a member of Emerald Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ross. Surviving are two sons, John Ross (Diane) of Anchorage, AK, and Willis Ross (Regina) of Greenwood; two daughters, Laurie Manness (Steve) of Laurens and Beth Quarles of Ware Shoals; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Coronaca Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 Highway 246 North, Greenwood, SC 29649. The family is at the home of son, Willis Ross, 102 Stonewood Drive, Greenwood, SC 29649.
