He was an Educator at his Alma Mater, where he was the 2019 recipient of The Moore Award for Excellence in General Education Teaching, sponsored by The Honors College. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and his parents, are a sister, Rayne Adams (Gene); a brother, Jimmy Burton (Caroline); parents-in-law, Harvey and Jimmie Hill; a sister-in-law, Leisa Howard (Travis); a special niece, Abby Adams and a special nephew, Alex Howard. Jack also leaves behind a very dear friend who has been like a daughter to both Jack and Jan, Ashley Taylor Willner.
Jack was curious about life and had a full spectrum of interests, ranging from science to zombies, UFOs, bowling, pirates, fishing, Star Trek, and Bigfoot. He loved to watch the best of the worst C-list horror movies with friends. But more than anything, he loved people. Jack's open, welcoming spirit impacted countless people he met in profoundly positive ways. Jack was an authentic, original masterpiece.
