John "Jack " Jesse Giles, Jr., 77, of 1112 North Greenwood Avenue, died Friday, May 29, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late John Jesse Giles, Sr. and Rena Fridy Giles. Jack was an avid baseball player and played with the American Legion Post 20. He was an U. S. Navy veteran where he served during Peacetime. After returning to Greenwood he received his Industrial Engineering and Drafting & Design degrees. He retired from Jarvis as a mechanical engineer and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a brother, David A Giles of Taylors. Surviving are a daughter, Kim Giles-Gillian of Ninety Six; three sons, Keith Giles of Waterloo, Mike Giles and Craig Giles, both of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Brian and Keri Giles of Spartanburg, Dalis Giles and Nevaeh Gillian, both of Ninety Six ; a sister, Marcia Fridy McKee and her husband, Bruce of Coronaca; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Giles of Waterloo. The family is at the home of his daughter, Kim Giles-Gillian, 217 Duke Street, Ninety Six.
