John C. "Jack" Lenning, Jr., 81, of Greenwood, husband of Diane Foley Lenning, died Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Duluth, MN, he was the son of the late John C. and Margaret Johnson Lenning. Jack was a paint contractor and enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding. He was a member of Upper Savannah Shooters Association, a former member of Long Cane Motorcycle Association and was a poll manager with the Greenwood County Election Commission for over 50 years. Jack was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he volunteered with the food pantry.

He was preceded in death by his son, John C. "Johnny" Lenning, III and a brother, Mark A. Lenning.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Brent Lenning (Connie Keener), Derek Weekley (Michelle), Kelly Lenning Davis, Shannon Weekley Tripp (Will) and Shane Lenning; a sister, Kari Schoening; a brother, Alan J. Lenning (April); seven grandchildren: Amber Davis, Nic Lenning, Cade Davis, Zach Tripp, Seth Tripp, Jackson Prewett and Clover Burnett; three great grandchildren: Luke Lenning, Ethan Tellock and Kailyne Tellock; and two nieces: Krista Fox and Kari Schoening Diehl.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Rusty Kehl officiating. Entombment will be private.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
