Melvin Jack Martin, 75, of 3612 Highway 25 South, husband of Annie Belle Sudduth Martin, died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at his home. Born in Lincolnton, GA, he was the son of the late Lynox and Sara Smalley Martin. Jack was a U. S. Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Martins Chainsaw and was a member of First Damascus Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home is a son, Melvin L. Martin of Greenwood; a daughter, Jackie McMahan and her husband John, of Bamberg; two sisters, Joyce Norman and her husband Fred, of Winder, GA and Mary Black and her husband Bobby, of Laurens; and two grandchildren, Josh Whitt and Haylee McMahan. Pallbearers will be Conway Vines, Dan Warner, Ed McCallum, Carroll Ethridge, Don Going, John Lamb, Eddie Roller and Danny Harvley. The family is at the home. '
