Jack Louis Harvley, Sr., 81, of 4323 Highway 25 South, husband of Dora Stults Harvley, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Leslie Wilford Harvley and Annie Victoria Hastings Harvley. He graduated from Piedmont Technical College and York Technical College, where he received his bachelor's degree in Applied Science. Jack was a US Army veteran, Spec 5, where he served during the Vietnam War and was a member of First Damascus Baptist Church. He was an avid reader, skilled mechanic, and loved old westerns, gardening, and wood workings. He enjoyed building projects with his wife including constructing a playground for his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who he adored.

Surviving are his children, James Leonard Harvley of Spartanburg, Mary Dawn McCarthy, Linda Grace Newton (Wayne), both of Ninety Six, Juanita Leslie Bustos (Rene), Letricia Carrolann Harvley, and Michael Clay Harvley, all of Greenwood; brother, Sammy Wilford Harvley (Shirley) of Ninety Six; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two children, Jack Louis Harvley, Jr. and Roberta Evelyn Harvley and his sister, Jeanette Degeeter.

Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Mr. Wayne Newton officiating.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Newton, Jacob Baker, Daymone Connelley, Tanner Peppers, CJ Newton, Rene Bustos, and Shaun Estrich.
