Jacqueline Virginia Stewart Sutter, 77, resident of Wesley Commons, Greenwood, SC, wife of David Oscar Sutter, died December 27, 2018.
Born in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late William E. Stewart and Betty Jane Hartman Stewart. While raising her family in the St. Louis area she used her artistic skills to create a series of home-based businesses including a screen-printing business that she operated for many years during which time she printed T-shirts for the local Parkway schools, community groups and small businesses. She was a master cake decorator and made elaborate wedding and birthday cakes for her family. She served many community groups through her volunteerism, most especially the St. Louis Girl Scouts for whom she served as a Troop Leader and was the summer director at Camp Tuckahoe for several summers.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington University, St. Louis and a Master of Education degree from Westfield State University. She retired from Longmeadow High School in Longmeadow, MA, where she served for more than twenty years as a math and science teacher and, ultimately, as Assistant Principal.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her children, Cynthia Schulz (Kenneth) of Virginia, Christine Sutter (William Quinlan) of Florida and David Sutter (Andrea) of New Jersey; brothers, William E. Stewart of Kansas and Charles Stewart of Missouri; and five grandchildren, Joshua Schulz, Olivia Schulz, Daniel Quinlan, Alex Sutter and Jessica Sutter.
