Obituary

The Martin family is regretful to announce the untimely passing of Charles Jacob (Jake) Martin on October 17, 2025, in Greenwood, SC. Born in Conway, SC to Charles Martin, Jr. and Melanie Martin on February 9, 1990, he was born on the heels of Hurricane Hugo, of 1989 and the Christmas snowstorm of 1989, a historic, record-breaking weather event and the only recorded "white Christmas" in the area's history. No wonder he was high-spirited from the beginning of life.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Rose (Charlie) Martin of Raleigh, NC; his mother, Melanie Martin of Myrtle Beach, SC; his sister, Ashton Cordeiro, and her husband Vini, along with his niece and nephews, Savannah, Elijah and Ben Cordeiro, all of Conway, SC; his uncle, Edward Singleton of Irmo, SC; and Katie, the mother of his child.

Jake attended Socastee High School and was a man of many talents. Beyond his professional pursuits, he was known for his infectious laughter, adventurous spirit, and his ability to light up a room with his energy. He loved his daughter fiercely and cherished the moments he spent with family and friends. Whether sharing a story, cracking a joke, or simply offering support, Jake's creativity, humor, and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He was a free spirit who followed his curiosity wherever life led him, and those who knew him best remember him as someone who truly lived life with heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held soon to honor Jake. Details will be shared once arrangements are finalized, and the family will keep everyone updated.

If you are able to contribute to his GoFundMe to help cover the cost of the unexpected funeral and Celebration of Life, your generosity would be greatly appreciated. Any remaining funds will be gifted to his daughter, Charlie.
