James Rudolph "Rudy" Adams, 78, of Augusta Fields, Greenwood, SC, widower of Carolyn Adams, passed away on May 4, 2024, at his home.
He was the only child born to the late James H. and Helen M. Adams. Rudy owned and operated Rudy's Enterprises, Inc. and was in the "car business" as a buyer, wholesaler, and retailer for over fifty years. In his more mature years, he became known as a fair and compassionate landlord to many. He was a member of First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and a member of the Joy Sunday School Class.
Surviving are three daughters, Kim Marshall (Dion), Jamie Lynn (Josh) Kilcoyne, Rita Dixon (Tim); grandchildren Kayla Dennis, Cassie Seymour (Blake), Connor Davis, Alex Dixon, J.C. Kilcoyne, Owen Marshall, Emily Marshall, and honorary grandchild, Haleigh Graves. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren and pre-deceased by his faithful dog, Taco.
Rudy would want you to know that he is a Christian, and is now rejoicing in heaven. He was an avid Clemson fan and his favorite pastime was watching NASCAR racing ( a #1 Ford fan) and attending dirt track racing, having owned and sponsored several local cars.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 11th at 11:00 am at Harley Funeral Home with Rev. George Atkins, Dion Marshall, and Tim Dixon officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:00am.
Rudy requested an upbeat, casual service and "blue jeans are OK".
