James Marion Banks, 80, of 111 Channing Drive, husband of Linda McAllister Banks, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at his home.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late James P. and Maude Brown Banks. He retired from Greenwood Mills Mathews Plant, a US Air Force Veteran, and was a member of Panola United Methodist Church, where he was a member of The Men's Group.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Melvin Banks (Alison), Tammy Allen, both of Monks Corner, Tammy Johns, Christopher Donnie Banks, both of Greenwood, Terri Haynes (Terry) of Ware Shoals, and Ronnie Banks (Kim) of Raleigh, NC; a brother, Larry Banks of Muncie, IN; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Banks; a sister; and four brothers.
Graveside services, with military rites, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Oakbrook Memorial Park with the Rev. Michael Evans, Rev. Jonathan Payne; and Sonny Nicholson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Harley Funeral Home.
