James A. Brown, 89, of 122 Shearbrook Drive, husband of Sarah Graham Brown, died Monday, December 7, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Elbert County, GA, he was a son of the late Jay Gordon and Anna Beasley Brown. He retired from both Greenwood Mills and Greenwood School District 50 Vocational School. Mr. Brown was a US Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife of the home; two sons, Douglas Brown and Gerald Brown, both of Greenwood; a sister, Peggy Payne of Greenville; two grandsons and a great granddaughter.
