James E. Callaway, 75, of 209 Townsend Road, husband of Effie Gooch Callaway, died Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Banks County, GA, he was a son of the late Jim and Ellie Helton Callaway. He was self employed and of the Holiness faith. Surviving is his wife of the home; a daughter, Deborah McLaughlin and her husband, Paul, of Greenwood; two sons, Jimmy Callaway and Mike Dorn and his wife, Beverly, all of Greenwood; a sister, Mammie Sue Ogle of Oglethorpe County, GA; a brother, George Callaway and his wife, Betty, of Oglethorpe County; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Tucker, Larry Tucker, Jeff Tucker, Wayne Callaway, Loyde Callaway and Norman Callaway. Honorary escort will be Tim Brooks, Joe Brooks and Jeremy Lund. The family is at the home.
