Obituary
James Ernest Adams, 85 of 418 Scotch Cross Road East, widower of Patsy Timms Adams, died Friday, August 7, 2015 at Hospice House.
Born in Greenwood County, he was the son of the late Ernest B. and Inez Burnett Adams. James retired after 48 years from Greenwood Mills having worked at both Mathews Plant and Harris Plant. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club and was a member of Trinity Baptist Tabernacle.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Compton Adams.
Surviving are a son, Dennis Adams and his wife, Helen, and a daughter, Clovia Davis and her husband, Gary, all of Greenwood; four sisters,Frances Harrison, Barbara Glanton (Gene), Elsie Gary (Tom), all of Greenwood and Annette West of Newberry; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Craig Glanton, Tommy Gary, Artie Worthington, Tony Worthington, Ray Worthington, Andrew Cook, Allen Laughlin and Milton Golden.
Memorials may be made to Hospice House, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646. The family is at the home.
