James Edward Chapman, 92, of 109 Colonial Drive, husband of Frances Elizabeth O'Shields Chapman, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Hospice House.
Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Ed and Mamie Chapman. James retired from Greenwood Mills and retired from the U. S. Army, having served his country also in the Navy and Marines. He was a member of the American Legion and The Lions Club. James was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two children, Susan Long (Johnny) of Greenwood and Richard "Ricky" Chapman of Ft. Myers, FL; a brother, Claude Chapman of Myrtle Beach; two grandchildren, Crosby Long and his fiancé, Sarissa Hudson and Taylor Graves, and her husband, Kyle; and two great grandchildren, Paisley Long and Ryan McCalla.
Services will be held at 4 pm on Thursday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum with the Rev. Bill Harris officiating. Entombment will follow.
The family will receive friends before the service from 3-4pm.
