Obituary

James Luther �J.L.� Goldman, 94, of Greenwood, widower of Sallie Elizabeth Hawkins Goldman, died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Callison, SC, he was the son of the late William Wayne Joseph Goldman and Clara Mae Hollingsworth Goldman. He was twice married, first to the late Margaret Elizabeth Harbin Goldman. J.L. was retired from Greenwood Mills-Adams Plant and served in the U. S. Army in the 784th MP Company B during World War II. J.L.�s hobby was golf and was a member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Robert and Ella Dismuke Goldman and Willie Thomas �Doll� and Annie Whatley Hollingsworth; a sister, Annie Mae Goldman Mobley; and two brothers, William Wayne Douglas Goldman and Robert Edmund Goldman. Surviving are three daughters; Jan Clara Geneva Johnson and her husband, Stanley Johnson, of Calhoun Falls, Helen Elizabeth Goldman of Auburn, AL; Phila Ann Rambo and her husband, George Bennett Rambo, Jr., of Bradley; a sister, Bertha Louise Blum and her husband, James Kirkland Blum, of Greenwood; a sister-in-law, Imogene Harbin Bearden and husband, Henry Grady Bearden, of Greenwood; a nephew, Danny Bearden and his wife, Gloria Bearden, of Greenwood; a niece, Elaine Bearden Landers and her husband, Russell Landers, of Lexington, SC; five grandchildren, Kelly Rae Driver and her husband, Jake Driver, of Hartwell, GA, MSgt. Travis John Capps and his wife, Kristie Capps, of Oceanside, CA, George Bennett Rambo, III of Bradley, Jamie Ann Rambo of Greenwood and Michelle Elizabeth Rambo of Bradley; two great grandchildren, Braydon Lance Capps and Sethan Drake Capps, both of Oceanside, CA. Pallbearers will be Stanley Johnson, George B. Rambo, Jr., George B. Rambo, III, Jacob Driver, Christopher Megna and Danny Bearden. The family members are at their respective homes.
