Obituary

James Warren Hayden, a devoted husband, father, and friend, peacefully departed this life on December 30, 2024, at the age of 85. Born in Talladega, Alabama, he was the son of the late James Henry Hayden and Allie Jo Vice.
James was a man of remarkable dedication, who worked his way up to the position of Tooling Engineer at Foundry Services in North Carolina. His craft was not limited to his profession; he found joy in working with his hands, whether that was in his cherished garden, tending to his chickens, or creating beautiful and unique pieces through his woodworking. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, James served his country with honor and commitment, embodying the values of integrity and perseverance throughout his life. He was a simple man with a profound love for his family and a steady belief in the Lord. James was a proud and dedicated member of Siloam Baptist Church.
A man of profound conviction, he gave to those he felt called to support, bestowing them with angels that he prayed over and sharing his spirit of the Lord.
In his passing, James leaves behind a legacy of compassion, giving, strength, and unwavering faith. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his first wife Marion Marie Miksell; a son, Thomas Hayden; and brothers Brantley Hayden, Torrey Jemison Hayden, and Tommy Hayden.
Surviving are his wife Connie P. Hayden; children Linda Sanders (Gary), Ethridge Hayden (Lori), Cathy Kensinger (Bryan), Lauren Hastings (Doug), Shane Cobb (Laura), John Cobb (Diana), and Amy Surrett (Chris); his sisters, Bess Parks, Allie Pearson; brothers, Joe Hayden, Bob Hayden, and Andy Hayden; grandchildren, Angel, Olivia, Deshi, Ben, Ethan, Elizabeth, Brennan, Hazel, Aaron, Chelsie, Bailey, Brockton, Evan, Landon, Logan; and five greatgrandchildren.
