James Broadus �Jake� Cooper, Jr., 44, of 114 Shadowood Lane, husband of Cecilia Rodriguez Cooper died Monday, October 19, 2009 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of Bobbie �Barbara� Poole Bowers and the late James Broadus Cooper, Sr. Jake was a graduate of Greenwood High School and retired after 23 years of service in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of the home; his mother and step father Elbert E. Bowers of Greenwood; two daughters, Eryan Cooper and Jennifer Renee Cooper, both of the home; two sons, Raymond Cooper and Alex Cooper, both of the home; two sisters, Donna McNeeley and Cheryl Simmons and her husband Ben, all of Greenwood; a step sister, Susan Sims of Greenwood; a step brother, Stanley Bowers and his wife Pam of Piedmont; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Raymond Cooper, Alex Cooper, Elbert Bowers, Stanley Bowers, Mike Posey, Todd Dalton, David Snelling and Ben Simmons. Honorary escort will be David Ackley, D. C. Cookey-Gam, Skipper Werts, Art House, Dr. Kathy Bobbynreth, Judy Willis, Dr. Erick Rupard, Dr. Chandler Todd, Pastor Steve Nutt Bill Haynes and Al Allhouse. The family is at the home.
