James R. Lindley, Sr., 75, of Honea Path, husband of Diana Tinch Lindley, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026 at AnMed Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood on January 12, 1951, he was a son of the late Edgar Clarence Lindley and Margaret Taylor Lindley.
James loved traveling, especially trips to the beach, where he enjoyed the peacefulness of the coast and making special memories with those he loved. He also enjoyed fishing and the quiet moments spent on the water. Above all, James was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Dianne, and a loving and dedicated father to his children, who were truly his whole world. His family was the center of his life, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.
A man of deep and steadfast faith, James was a faithful member of Princeton Baptist Church. He served the church as youth leader for many years, investing his time, wisdom, and love in the lives of young people and encouraging them in their walk with Christ. His devotion to his family, his church, and his faith left a lasting influence on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his wife, Diana, he is survived by his children, Paul Lindley (Toni), Crystal Smith, Jackson Lindley, and Dennis Lindley; stepsons, Ronnie Gore and Chris Gore; sister, Marie Studley (Tim); brothers, Mark Lindley and Lonnie Flowe; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Crawford; sister, Peggy Hancock; and brother, Lee Lindley.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Crawford, Jake Crawford, Jeremy Lindley, Christian Lindley, Jersey Edgins, and Justin Brassfield.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Princeton Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Bowen and Rev. Andy Boggs. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the church.
