James Thomas �J.T.� Martin, 84, formerly of 218 Willard Road, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Willie and Azilee Christian Burton Martin. He retired from Ninety Six Brickyard and was the owner and operator of Martins Used Cars. James was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Martin had a love for music that he shared with his family. He recorded his own music and was a great guitarist. We have wonderful memories of times we all shared and he will never be forgotten. Surviving are five daughters, Vickie Collins (Kim), Joyce Gauvin (Roland), and Bonnie Todd, all of Greenwood, Janet Rushton (Bo) of Ninety Six, and Cindy Laughlin (Howard) of Abbeville; a sister, Eva Callaway of Athens, GA; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lilla Starnes. Pallbearers will be Howard Laughlin, Dustin Laughlin, T.J. Rushton, Roland Gauvin, Brandon Todd, Toby Skidmore, and Jacob Todd.
