James Leonard �PeeWee� Alexander, 62, of 204 Lakeview Drive, husband of Charlotte Alexander, died Monday, September 12, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Elberton, GA, he was a son of the late James Walton and Helen Chitwood Alexander. He retired as an assistant manager with Bi-Lo and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Mason and was a member of Emerald Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife of the home; a daughter, Michelle Dawn Alexander Mercer and her husband, Benjamin; two sons, James C. Alexander and Willie Sweat, all of Greenwood; a sister, Louise Ray of Commerce, GA; two brothers, Larry �Dink� Alexander of Greenwood and James Richard Alexander of Commerce, GA; grandchildren, Michael Walton Alexander, Austin Lee Mercer, Brandon Wayne Mercer, Cheavy Lynn Mercer, Darian Sweat, Kimberly Sweat and Chloe Sweat.
