James Anthony Powell, 41, of 5503 Highway 178, died Thursday, June 24, 2010. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Marie Smith Powell Turpin and the late J. C. Powell. He was employed by Harvley�s Scrap Yard and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is an aunt, Dorothy Reynolds and her husband, Carl, of Swansea; two great uncles, Jessie Chavis and his wife, Susie, and George Chavis and his wife, Linda, all of North; and Maude Lee and E. J. Harvley, by whom he was raised. He was preceded in death by a half brother, Roger Dale Powell.
