James Herbert Powell, Jr. of Greenwood, SC passed away November 18 surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born May 12, 1934 in Greenwood, SC and spent his years growing up in Waterloo, SC. He was the son of James H. Powell, Sr. and Christine Felder Powell. He was predeceased by his parents and two loving wives, Elizbeth Powell and Sandy Duncan Powell.

He is survived by a brother, Carol Ansel Powell (Betty) of Cross Hill, SC; nieces, Carol Motro of Los Angeles, CA and Lisa of Greenville, NC; stepchildren, Martin Duncan (Diana) of Hilton Head, SC and Tracy Duncan Stover (Jason) of Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Todd Barranger of Battenroge, LA, Addison Stover of Katy, TX, Jackson Duncan and Julia Duncan of Hilton Head.

He graduated from Laurens High School and Clemson University. He was employed by Leesona Industries throughout the world living in Paris, France and London, England. He enjoyed traveling in his motorhome and living in Hilton Head, SC.While there he worked part time as assistant manager for Wal Mart for 20 years.

He will be missed by his loved ones especially his neighbors, Bob and Mabel Templeton, who were always there for him, as well as his loving friend and companion for the past two years, Pat Lashley Collins of Chapin (Lake Murray), SC.

He will be laid to rest Friday, November 22, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family and friends will greet each other following the graveside service. The Rev. Brett Collins of Little Mt, SC will be officiating.
