James L. Sweat, 70, of 215 Reds Road, husband of Martha Ann Barnett Sweat, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at his home. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late William Andrew Sweat, Sr. and Gladys Beatrice Fuller Cousin. James was a retired trucker from Robert Nelson Trucking and attended Lakeside Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, Alton Taylor and Bert Roy Taylor. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two daughters, Marie Kimbrell (J.T.) of Gray Court and Frances Brock (Wilton) of Waterloo; five sons, Robbie Barnett of Ninety Six, Ricky Barnett (Tina) of Greenwood, James Sweat, Jr.(Pam) of Dandridge, TN, Craig Taylor of Greenwood and Tommy James (Paula) of Bowman, GA; a daughter raised in the home, Brandy Turner (Larry) of Greenwood; a son raised in the home, Travis Chrisley (Brianna) of Greenwood; a brother, George Marion, of NC; a sister, Margie Davis of Laurens twenty-five grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
