Jannette �Jan� Starnes Brown, 66, of 808 Fifth Ave, wife of J. C. Brown, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Petra Health and Rehab. Born in Woodruff, she was a daughter of Annie Turner Smith and the late Brad Burke. Jan graduated from Laurens High School and Charzanne Beauty College. She was a cosmetologist, retiring as manager of the JCPenny Beauty Salon. Jan was a member of Republican United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband of the home and her mother of Calhoun Falls are two daughters, Roxane (Wayne) Pittman and Karen (Ronnie) Stokes, both of Piedmont; a son, Jeff Brown of McCormick; a sister, Betty Ann Turner of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Nicole Brown, Ashley Pittman, Alex Pittman, Matt Stokes and Chris Stokes; and three great grandchildren, Madelyn Stokes, Steven Stokes and Stella Stokes. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Stokes, Matt Stokes, Chris Stokes, Wayne Pittman, Alex Pittman, Chuck Bennett, Michael Ridelhoover and Daniel Ridlehoover.
