Obituary

Janet Marcia Lee Haeger, aged 76, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Born on April 13, 1948, in Staten Island, New York to the late George and Josephine Lee.

She was a devoted educator, earning her bachelor's degree and dedicating herself to teaching at a private Christian school in Chicago, IL. Her love for Early American History was matched only by her enthusiasm for sharing that knowledge with others. She touched the lives of many through her commitment to education and her unwavering belief in the power of curiosity.

Outside the classroom she had a deep love for traveling, often embarking on yearly trips to the beach, where the serenity of the coast brought her joy. Her fondness for Cape Cod and the beautiful landscapes of Northeastern America filled her heart with happiness and created cherished memories that she held dear. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Emerald Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Janet was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Lee.

She leaves behind her sister Jean Lee, three beloved nephews, David (Hope) Lee, Paul (Ashely) Grosch, Matthew (Jia Hang) Grosch, one niece, Rebecca (Frank) Rogers and her sister-in-law Donna Lee. While she will be deeply missed, her spirit continues to live on in the hearts of those she has touched.

As requested by Janet no services will be held.

Janet Marcia Haeger's legacy will forever be one of love, knowledge, and cherished moments, and her impact will resonate through those who had the privilege of knowing her. In her honor, let us remember to embrace our passions, seek knowledge, and cherish our loved ones, just as she did every day of her life.
