Janet Evans McCarthy, 69, of 94 Cothran Street, widow of Boyce Ted McCarthy, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Lafayette, IN, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Edna Mary Gant Evans. She was a licensed practical nurse and worked with Mission Delicatessen and Catering, Fremont, CA. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ninety Six, where she was a member of the Ebbie McCarthy Sunday School Class and was active in benevolence and outreach ministries in the church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Simpson. Surviving are daughters, Sheri Quintero of Boulder Creek, CA and Kate Knight of Ninety Six; sons, Robert Mark Montag of Ninety Six; Carl Montag and his girlfriend, Roxie Dilleshaw, of Greenwood and Stephen McCarthy and his wife, Deborah, of Marysville, CA; sisters, Deanna Woods of Ocean Shores, WA and Mary Chamberlin of Carmel, CA; brothers, her twin, James Evans of Ocean Shores, WA, John Evans of Sacramento, CA, Marshall Evans of Gilroy, CA and Dick Evans of Fremont, CA; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
