Janice Diane Jackson, 75, died Monday, February 10, 2025.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Herman Evans and Thelma Hazel Pearson Ouzts. Janice attended Lander College and received her Master's degree in Botany from the University of South Carolina. She taught biology at Piedmont Technical College's Nursing program.
She attended Emerald Baptist Church.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Woodrow Jackson, who died on January 14, 2025. Marvin was the son of the late James and Mildred Harmon and is survived by a brother, Jimmy Owensby (Norma Jean) and was preceded in death by his sister, Kaye "Cookie" Harmon Ferqueron. Janice was also preceded in death by her nephew, Jay Davis.
Janice and Marvin are survived by their son, Daniel Jackson (Brooke) and grandchildren, Levi and Josephine Jackson. Janice is also survived by her sister, Shirlyne Tiller (Randy) and great niece and nephews, Alan Davis, Amber Davis, Cade Davis, Ethan Tellock, and Kailyne Tellock.
A service to celebrate the lives of Janice and Marvin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Emerald Baptist Church with Randy Ouzts officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Cade Davis, Brandon Owensby, Terry Boone, Gary Owensby, Andy Johnson and Wayne Whatley.
The family will receive friends at Emerald Baptist Church on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
