Jay Broadus Timms, 42, of 6817 Highway 178 N, Hodges, died Saturday, April 9, 2016.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Broadus F. and Zelma Ozell Blackwell Timms. He attended Eastside Christian School and was a graduate of Greenwood High School. Jay was an organic farmer, the owner and operator of Raindance Farms and sold his produce at the produce stand in Hodges. He was a member of the Band of Brothers Motorcycle Club and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is his son, Garrett McAllister of Greenwood; his parents of Hodges; his sister, Becky McClinton (Sam) of Greenwood; two brothers, Mark Timms of Charleston and Robby Briggs of Greenwood; nieces, Haven Sherard (Tripp), Amanda Briggs and Erica McClinton (fiancé, Jacob) and nephew, Brooks Briggs.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Dr. Jeff Lethco officiating.
Pallbearers will be Scott Hatcher, Tony Williamson, Dennis Humphries, Andy Tiller, Robert "Bo" Ledford, Paul Coleman, Tré Kennemore and Mike Besta.
Honorary escort will be Jason Rogers, Tim Gillespie and Brooks Briggs.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
The family is at the home of his parents, 5218 Emerson Street, Hodges.
